Well folks, I’ve decided to go on a diet. I actually started my diet last Friday, but it hasn’t been as bad as I thought it was going to be. Actually I’ve compiled a detailed plan of action to help keep me on track so maybe I can succeed this time!

Most everyone at some time in their life will either cut back a bit or maybe go on an all out diet. But we all know how hard and frustrating that can be. To keep yourself loyal and on track is harder than you may think.

I know others will disagree with this, but I’m managing my diet by counting calories. Nutritionists will tell you this isn’t at all what you need to do, that it’s mainly all about what you eat, not how much. I’ve found that to be accurate to a certain extent, but what works for one, may not work for everyone.

I went to the store and got me a bunch of those diet microwave dinners and let me tell you, some of those things are pretty awesome! They have really come a long way since they first started making them. Plus they have every kind of dish you can imagine. The best part about those pre-packaged meals is that all the calories and fat etc. has all be portioned by a dietician. So it makes it super easy to just pop one in the microwave and in a few minutes you’re eating a perfect low calorie meal.

This makes things especially easy for me because I work all day. When I finally get home for lunch I don’t have a whole lot of time to get something ready to eat. If you’re trying to diet it takes a little extra time and care to put together a meal too. So these “box” lunches have been a life saver.

Anyway, so far I’ve managed to lose 5 pounds in just a few days. All I’ve done is change my eating habits. I now eat around 300 calories for breakfast. Which consists of a low calorie breakfast sandwich and half an apple. Sometimes I may have a couple of poached eggs and a piece of toast. Then for lunch I eat one of my frozen diet dinners. Then around 3 or 4 o’clock in the afternoon I may eat either another apple, or a nutri-grain fruit bar (only 120 calories). Then we’ll have a sensible dinner around 6 pm. Normally some fish or chicken with half a baked potato with nothing on it and some mixed veggies. Or we may have a small 4 oz piece of either pork or hamburger steak instead of the fish or chicken.

But anyway this may not be the perfect diet in some folks eyes, but it’s sure working for me as of right now. When it warms up a bit I plan on doing some evening walking to help burn some fat. But I don’t have a whole bunch of weight to lose, but I do need to get a bit off, so wish me luck folks and I’ll try to keep you posted in this thread as I progress.

There’s actually a brand new book out called The 100 Calorie Diet that looks very cool. It comes with several bonus books like a low calorie cookbook, a journal and a couple of food counter books. It’s a pretty good price on it, so I’ll probably give that a look see. I don’t know a whole lot about this dieting stuff, so any help I can get is cool with me.

Sorry to bore you with all this personal stuff, but now let’s get to the interesting and unusual food facts, 15 of them to be exact.

  2. Hi Robert!
How is your diet going so far? I’m starting mines this week and I hope all goes well. I even started a blog to help me stay motivated and focused 🙂

All the tips you listed were good, majority of them I have never heard about.

    1. Hi Melanie,

I appreciate you asking about my progress. So far I’ve lost 7 pounds, which isn’t too bad for 12 days 🙂

I think starting a blog to keep you motivated on your diet is a great idea. If you can make it a topic for discussion on a daily basis then it makes it much easier to stay on track.

I wish you the best on your diet and thanks for stopping by, I’ll have to stop in and say hi at your blog. 🙂

  3. Hey great post. Tnx for great info .If you want you can check on my site few diet plans and
    Weight Loss guides.

    1. Thanks Klemen, I’ll give it a look see. I can never absorb too many ideas on this subject.

  4. The faster you lose fat, the more likely it is that you will regain it over time..The key is to be consistent.Like this list. Lost 23 pounds last year.

    1. That’s great, 23 pounds! I have heard about losing too fast. I’m averaging about 2 to 3 pounds a week so far. I’ve lost 12pounds since this post was published. But I’ve slowed down quite a bit lately. They say 2 pounds a week is nominal. Thoughts?

  5. I know that Lettuce is mentioned in the bible… “As Jesus said ‘Lettuce pray’!!”

  6. Interesting article. If your a huge dessert lover, check out Chocolates Fresh : http://www.chocolatesfresh.com , they have very delicious treats. They have stuff I have never seen before like m&m covered apples, and butter finger apples.

    1. Awesome looking shop you have there Sunny. The chocolate fruits look delicious, may have to give them a try sometime.

      1. Thanks very much. However, it is a brand new site and I don’t have any traffic coming through. I really need help getting it popular. If you have any advice, I would really appreciate it. Thanks again.

        1. Well, I don’t have much experience with store front websites. But one thing you may try is starting a blog on candy or chocolate. If it’s a passion that you love, then you should have plenty of things to say about it, maybe offer tips and tricks to making awesome candy.

The important thing is to update your blog often and I think the interest you could gain would spill over into your store front.

Also commenting like you’re already doing and leaving your link behind is excellent exposure, just be careful not to do it in a “spammy” way. You could think about Guest Posting, writing an article on your niche and having another site publish it.

I would be happy to publish an article if you would like to write one on some candy techniques or something similar. It would just need to be unique content that wasn’t already published somewhere else.

If I can help by publishing something for you let me know. It could help with a little exposure. Check out Become a Contributor if you’re interested.

Just remember, these things take a little time to build. Hope these ideas help out. 🙂
