The Dark Knight Rises

 
So I watched the new batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises tonight.  My overall opinion is that it was pretty good.  I mean, there’s a ton of these movies out already and I’ve seen every one of them.  First off let me say, I’m not a great big comic book fanatic or anything like that, just a guy who enjoys watching a good action flick.

Over all the plot was in line with most of them, the usual villain threatens city, hero fights villain, villain gets the best of hero, then eventually, hero beats villain.  That pretty much sums it up.  But that’s what we expect from these types of films anyway isn’t it?

So all that considered, let’s get on with my review.  The action scenes were pretty intense and the special effects were cool, not over the top but nicely done.  I actually like Christian Bale as batman I think he plays a good one. I definitely prefer him over Michael Keaton, George Clooney or Val Kilmer.  But that’s just my personal opinion, I think Christian Bale acted the part better than the rest.

Of course Bane made an excellent villain in this one.  I think it’s about time one of the bad guys almost gets the best of Batman.  Not that I would want to see the bad guy win, but it makes it more interesting and realistic to see Batman get whooped now and again. 🙂

Well, I won’t go into the movie much more than that cos I don’t want to ruin it for anyone that hasn’t seen it yet.  But usually people that care about it getting ruined by others know to stay away from posts like these.

So to sum this up, all in all, I give this one a thumbs up, it was a cool movie with lots of action and a good story behind it.  I definitely recommend this one to anyone that’s considering watching it.  It’s good enough that I’m sure I will watch it again.
