Of course in my Library of Superstitions, I must have superstitions of the lucky four leaf clover. Many people realize that the four leaf clover is a lucky symbol and to find one is an amazing stroke of good luck.
But do we know why we think that? Personally every time I see a batch of clovers I instantly start looking for one with four leaves. So let’s go over the superstitions associated with them and discover exactly why we’ve been molded to believe they’re lucky.

According to superstitions, finding a four leaf clover means the person who found it will meet his or her future lover that very day. And you can double your chances of this happening by giving it to someone else.

Four leaf clovers are said to only grow where a mare has foaled. The four leaves are symbols of wealth, good health, fame and a faithful partner.
They are said to offer protection from witchcraft, but even more amazing, superstitions say, if a young man finds a four leaf clover, it will prevent him from being drafted into the armed forces.
Anyone wearing one will be lucked with the ability to see Fairies. Personally I think I would freak out if I was seeing fairies, anyway…

Many superstitions involve young girls wearing a two leaf clover (that’s right, two leaf clover), in their right shoe. This is supposed to guarantee they will marry the first man that they meet. If not the first man, than at least a man bearing the same name.
Superstitions of the Five Leaf Clover
The five leaf clover is not nearly as famous as the four leaf clover, but it does have some superstitious beliefs.
Some believe finding a five leaf clover will bring great riches, while others believe they will bring terrible illness, unless they are given away immediately.
Other Theories
Certain authorities have actually traced the four leaf clover back to biblical times. How they did that I don’t know. But they say when Eve was cast out of Paradise, she stole one on her way out.
Of course we can’t leave out what herbalists think of the four leaf clover. Some believe concocting potions out of them will create an amazing skin treatment.

My Aunt found one at the reception hall when we were decorating the night before my wedding. She gave it to me and I still have it. My husband and I will be married 18 yrs this summer.
I never find it hard to find a 4 leaf i have 5 in my book at the moment now that i move to Ireland i took one with me everywhere i go in my wallet.I gave away about 2 in the past but the person lost it.The first time i found one their was a lot more i was in a rush to get my bus.
I have a 5 leaf clover but I seem to have no luck or wealth with it … If anything , it seems more like I have the opposite with it. Should I do anything about this ? Or what ?
yesterday, I was in my back yard with animals and said “this should be a nice patch” … I put my hand out over the patch and skimmed them with my palm… then I looked down 1 four leaf clover. Oh how beautiful is this! …. then to the left of it there was another… looking onward for another to the right….I found one with 5 leafs.

Multi-leaved clovers are a mutation of the 3 leafed kind, so if one find one with 4 or 5 leaves, keep looking in the same area. You will often find a few more.
I have found at least 10 4 leaf clovers and one or two fives in my life in 3 different places and 4 different occasions (im only 17) and I hardly look for them. So far I’m not feeling the luck from all my findings but hopefully whoever’s in charge of this luck thing decided to put mine on layaway.
As hard as this may be to believe. I have found as many as 70+ 4 leaf clovers in a single day. I’ve found 5,6,7,8 and 9 leaf clovers as well. In 2 days time have found close to 200. I’ve always been able to spot them.
Since April up until today may 20, 2016, I have found a total of 20+ four leaf clovers. I know it seems odd but I have keep them all according to the date found. I found a 5 leaf clover this morning while taking dogs out.

It started with a conversation with a friend whilst walking our dogs “our friend PT’s photo album and the last page being cool as he had stuck a 4 leaf clover to it:) well we walk off and about 1 min later for no reason but to joke around I said “Craig! 4 leaf clover!” He turned to face me I crouched down put my hand in a clump and pulled 1 out ! He said that I must have seen it in my peripheral vision and carried on walking , I started to follow and it took me the time to think” I can do this again or I’m Gona make my self look silly!” Then I said ” Craige he replyed”what” I then in mid stride trying to catch up with him to show him my first 4 leaf clover I had ever found! Said “4 leaf clover” I did not take my eyes off off him at this point dipped down put my hand down in long clover grass and pull an even bigger 1 . This changed my life straight away as I could not understand how this was possible . I told everyone I knew I went to church I then found 2 X 5 leaf clovers. 10 years past and I had more than 200 in my collection , I still have lots. I took 4 friends to Greece and I found 4 on the side of the road whilst waiting for the coach to take us home. Then the 10 year itch happens when I met my partner Gemma , I needed a passport to go to turkey so we went to Victoria in London and whilst waiting for this we walked to Buckingham palace, on the way I called them out again, I looked at Gemma and asked her “do you want a 4 leaf clover?” I nelt down on the verge with a patch of fine cut grass I did not look apart from in her eyes and pulled 1 out, Gemma jumped to he knees and trying to find 1 but I knew this was not possible , we then went to turkey and the day we returned we met with some friends and went out , and this time in the pitch black sat at the water meadows I said checkaly ” any 1 want a 4 leaf clover !!?” So I lent flat back stretched my arm to full reach and picked a stalk which then was the most beautiful 1 I had found alight some of the 5 1s look like butterfly’s . I also see static electricity everywhere . Life’s a strange place xx
I find a four or five leaf clover every single day, without even looking. Has happened for a few years now and its really bothering me because why does this keep happening, all I have to do is glance down and there’s always one there and they are the real ones not fake. I would love to know why!!.
